It was founded in 1941 by Sebastián Leme and Leonel Franca

College goal

Its objective is to develop knowledge based on humanistic values. It is considered one of the top five universities in Brazil and its research is recognized worldwide.

Management

PUC-Rio is administered by the Society of Jesus and the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro but welcomes students and teachers from all kinds of religions, ethnicities, social classes and nationalities.
